The assessment offers a way of not only identifying where you are and where you want to be in terms of your health and fitness, but also provides you with a tool to monitor your progress along the way. This goes a long way to helping you to keep at it and achieve your goal.
Jeanne Matthis Biokineticist in Fourways offers 2 types of assessments:
1. Wellness Assessment
PERCENT BODY FAT CALCULATION- this is the most accurate way to monitor weight loss or gain. We use skin fold measurements for this calculation.
BMI CALCULATION- this is your weight to height ratio.
BODY CIRCUMFERENCES- we measure the circumference of your waist, hips, thighs, arms etc. to monitor cm's lost or gained.
ESTIMATED IDEAL BODY COMPOSITION- using the above assessments we will determine what your end goal should be and what steps you should aim for along the way.
RESTING BLOOD PRESSURE AND HEART RATE
FULL REPORT- at the end of the assessment you will receive a comprehensive report detailing your results and improvement.
ADVICE- you will also receive exercise and nutrition guidelines and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
2. Fitness Assessment
Includes everything in the wellness assessment and:
MUSCULAR FITNESS TEST- your upper body and abdominal strength is assessed as well as lower back and hamstring flexibility.
AEROBIC FITNESS- a step test is used to determine your level of cardio fitness.
